What is Proooof?
Proooof reads the EXIF metadata embedded in your photos — shutter speed, aperture, ISO, location, date, and device — and lets you stamp that information directly onto your images as a clean, typeset overlay.
Why does EXIF data show up blank for some photos?
Some apps and services strip EXIF metadata when saving or sharing photos. Screenshots, images downloaded from social media, and photos edited in certain apps may have no metadata at all. Proooof can only display data that was recorded at capture time and preserved in the file.
Why is GPS data missing?
Location data is only embedded in photos taken with location access enabled. If your Camera app doesn't have location permissions, or if you explicitly disabled location for photos, GPS fields won't be available. You can check this in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Camera.
Does Proooof upload my photos anywhere?
No. All processing happens entirely on-device. Your photos and their metadata are never transmitted to any server. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Can I stamp multiple photos at once?
Yes. Select multiple photos on the home screen — Proooof will apply the same stamp layout to each image individually, using that image's own EXIF data.
Where are exported photos saved?
Stamped photos are saved directly to your iPhone's photo library. They appear in your Recents album like any other photo.
How do I deselect photos?
Tap a selected photo to deselect it, or shake your phone to clear the entire selection at once. You can disable shake-to-deselect in Settings.
Can I use my own camera inside Proooof?
Yes — tap the camera button on the home screen to capture a photo. It will be saved to your library and automatically selected, ready to stamp.
