The short version: Proooof processes everything on your device. We don't collect your photos, your metadata, or any personal information. We don't have servers that receive your data. What's on your phone stays on your phone.
What we collect
Nothing you'd worry about
Proooof does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal data, photos, EXIF metadata, location data, or usage information. The app has no backend server. No data leaves your device as a result of using the app.
Photo library access
Read access
Proooof requests access to your photo library so it can display your photos and read the EXIF metadata embedded in them. This access is used solely within the app to present your images and their camera data to you.
Write access
When you export a stamped image, Proooof saves the result back to your photo library. This is the only write operation the app performs, and it is always initiated by you explicitly.
On-device only
Your photos are never uploaded, cached remotely, or transmitted anywhere. All image processing — reading EXIF data, compositing the stamp, rendering the output — occurs entirely on your device using local compute.
Camera access
Optional, on request
If you choose to use the in-app camera, Proooof will request camera permission. Captured photos are saved directly to your local photo library. No camera feed or captured image is transmitted externally.
Location data
Optional, on request
When you use the in-app camera, Proooof requests access to your location while using the app in order to embed GPS coordinates (latitude, longitude, and altitude) directly into your photo's EXIF metadata. This mirrors the behavior of the native iOS camera.
Location data is written into the photo file only — it is never transmitted to our servers, shared with third parties, or stored by Proooof in any other form. You can deny location access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Proooof, and the camera will continue to work normally; photos will simply be saved without GPS data.
Analytics & tracking
None
Proooof includes no analytics SDKs, crash reporters, ad networks, or tracking frameworks. We do not monitor how you use the app, which features you engage with, or how often you open it.
Third-party services
Apple's App Store & TestFlight
Proooof is distributed through Apple's platforms. Apple may collect certain information as part of their standard App Store operation (such as crash logs and download statistics). This is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, not ours.
No other third parties
We do not integrate with any other third-party services, SDKs, or APIs that would have access to your data.
Children's privacy
Proooof does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Because we collect no personal data at all, the app does not pose a privacy risk to users of any age.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change this policy in a meaningful way, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Given that we collect no data, we don't anticipate significant changes. If the app ever introduces features that involve data collection, we will update this policy accordingly and notify users via the App Store release notes.
